Yale University के Environmental Performance Index (EPI) 2026 के आधार पर India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China और Nepal की तुलना नीचे दी गई है। EPI में कम rank number बेहतर होता है।

🇮🇳 भारत के लिए खास तस्वीर
भारत का Overall EPI Rank 176/180 नहीं बल्कि 176 है और उसका score 22.46 है। इन पांच देशों में भारत की स्थिति overall सबसे कमजोर है। खास तौर पर Air Quality (175) और Biodiversity & Habitat (174) इसके बड़े कमजोर क्षेत्र हैं। हालांकि Forests rank 75 है, जो इस पांच-देशीय तुलना में China के 71 से थोड़ा नीचे लेकिन Bangladesh के 136 से काफी बेहतर है।
महत्वपूर्ण: EPI की “Forests” ranking का अर्थ केवल देश में कुल forest-cover percentage नहीं है। यह EPI के अपने forest indicators, जैसे tree-cover loss आदि पर आधारित composite measure है। इसी तरह “Water Resources” भी केवल पानी की उपलब्धता नहीं, बल्कि EPI का specific indicator है।
